App Templates
Overview
Shortly after Adalo launched on ProductHunt we experienced a big spike in first-time user churn. The goal of this project was to give our users the ability to quickly start with their MVP, or see what kind of apps they can create

Scope
Adalo is a no-code platform that allows users to design, build, and launch apps to app stores.
Shortly after Adalo launched on ProductHunt we experienced a big spike in first-time user churn. We decided to create App Templates that would help our users to start their first app by giving them a base example of a working app and showing them how to create some of the most popular app features like chat, checkout process, and booking.
Some of the constraints I had to work with: Templates have to be generic enough to fit our makers needs, easy to edit, and have a small, working database with relationships and placeholder data.
They need to be powerful enough to show what Adalo can do, but not too be a “Swiss army knife” with all the features possible.
Results and takeaways
Since the launch of app templates, we have seen a significant decrease in first-time user churn and the number of support cases. Additionally, we have received positive feedback from our users, and some Adalo experts got inspired by those templates and added more awesome templates to our Template Library.
Here are some Pendo stats that show how popular those templates still are:)
